In-Between Spaces

On the hottest day of 2019, CCB hosted their inaugural popup exhibition, "In-Between Spaces," at Makeshift Boston. Visual artists interpreted the theme of code-switching in a myriad of interesting ways; from the collage work of Bitson Jean, the video art of Maria Servellón, to the digital compositions of Sharmin Rahman, there was a lot of ground uncovered.

Who you are can change based on who you’re with, where you are, and what you are doing. People of color play this game of code switching every single day and yet our identity and sense of belonging can still get called into question, by others or even by ourselves.
